- 3–4 boiled potatoes
- 1 finely chopped onion
- 1–2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- Salt to taste
- A handful of fresh curry leaves
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- Process cheese cubes
- Bread pieces (optional)
- Bread crumbs for coating
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions
- Peel the boiled potatoes and mash them thoroughly until smooth and lump-free
- Add chopped onion, green chilies, red chili powder, turmeric, coriander powder, and salt to the mashed potatoes
- Mix in curry leaves, fresh coriander, and lemon juice. Add bread pieces if using
- Take a portion of mixture in your palm, place a cheese cube in the center, and shape into a ball
- Roll each ball in bread crumbs, ensuring complete coating
- Heat oil to medium temperature and deep fry the balls until golden brown and crispy
- Serve immediately while the cheese center is still molten
Notes
- Make sure potatoes are completely cooled before mixing to prevent sticky mixture
- Don’t overstuff with cheese to prevent bursting during frying
- Keep oil at medium heat for even cooking
- Serve with mint chutney or your favorite dipping sauce
- Best enjoyed fresh and hot for the gooey cheese experience
