- 250g fresh paneer, cut into finger-sized strips
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp haldi (turmeric powder)
- 1/2 tsp jeera powder (cumin powder)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1/2 cup maida (all-purpose flour)
- 1/4 tsp haldi for slurry
- Water as needed for slurry
- 2 cups cornflakes, crushed
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions
- Cut paneer into finger-sized strips and marinate with red chilli powder, haldi, jeera powder, black pepper powder, and ginger-garlic paste for 15-20 minutes.
- Prepare coating slurry by mixing maida, haldi, and water to form a smooth, thick batter.
- Crush cornflakes and spread on a plate for coating.
- Heat oil in a deep pan for frying.
- Dip each marinated paneer strip in the slurry, ensuring it’s well coated.
- Roll the coated paneer in crushed cornflakes, pressing gently to help them stick.
- Carefully place in hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy on all sides.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with mint chutney, tamarind chutney, or ketchup.
