Description

Brazilian brigadeiro is a rich, fudgy chocolate treat made with just 3 simple ingredients. These delightful bite-sized balls are rolled in chocolate sprinkles and are perfect for parties or satisfying your sweet tooth.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Chocolate sprinkles (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. In a nonstick saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the condensed milk and cocoa powder, stirring constantly.
  2. Cook for 10–15 minutes, or until the mixture thickens and pulls away from the sides of the pan. It should look like a shiny, fudgy dough.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a greased plate or baking sheet. Let it cool slightly, then place in the fridge for 1 hour, or until firm enough to handle.
  4. Lightly butter your hands, then roll the mixture into small balls (about 1 inch). Roll each ball in chocolate sprinkles to coat.
  5. Store in mini cupcake liners or airtight containers if not serving immediately.

Notes

  • Keep heat at medium to prevent burning or seizing
  • Stir constantly while cooking for best results
  • Don’t skip the cooling time – properly cooled brigadeiro rolls much better
  • Butter your hands generously when rolling to prevent sticking
  • Store in refrigerator for up to a week
  • Can be served chilled or at room temperature
