Description
Brazilian brigadeiro is a rich, fudgy chocolate treat made with just 3 simple ingredients. These delightful bite-sized balls are rolled in chocolate sprinkles and are perfect for parties or satisfying your sweet tooth.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- Chocolate sprinkles (for rolling)
Instructions
- In a nonstick saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the condensed milk and cocoa powder, stirring constantly.
- Cook for 10–15 minutes, or until the mixture thickens and pulls away from the sides of the pan. It should look like a shiny, fudgy dough.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased plate or baking sheet. Let it cool slightly, then place in the fridge for 1 hour, or until firm enough to handle.
- Lightly butter your hands, then roll the mixture into small balls (about 1 inch). Roll each ball in chocolate sprinkles to coat.
- Store in mini cupcake liners or airtight containers if not serving immediately.
Notes
- Keep heat at medium to prevent burning or seizing
- Stir constantly while cooking for best results
- Don’t skip the cooling time – properly cooled brigadeiro rolls much better
- Butter your hands generously when rolling to prevent sticking
- Store in refrigerator for up to a week
- Can be served chilled or at room temperature
